- Suggestions for subtopics:
- GSOC
- Applied but maybe not approved yet, but WMF always gets in
- From the future: the WMF application was not filed correctly in 2025
- Benchmarking with the API
- https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T386924 (a different GSoC project)
- It says HTTP API, guessing we mean REST API?
- Will we be able to exercise all relevant paths via this API (e.g. not Lexemes?)
- Otherwise seems sensible as it requires mainly general dev knowledge
- If wanting to do one with a plugin, dig up the video session where Adam (IIRC) helped a group through writing a plugin
- Python not strictly required as a means to access the API
- Not yet sure how many applicants
- Applied but maybe not approved yet, but WMF always gets in
Notes
[edit]- Applied for Google Summer of Code for one project
- Need a place to send contributors to manage and talk to them
- Hope to be able to understand the need of the community better
