[edit]General comments
[edit]- I like this one. It stood out to someone passing by and seems to have some consistency with the WikiMedia logo. -- Jtneill - Talk 14:18, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- This logo uses the major portion of Wikimedia logo (two slices creating stylized W & M letters, also a circle above it, although bigger) which is definitely not good idea. (Actually my first thought when I saw this logo was "Wikimedias of the world, unite!" ;-)) Also versions A and B could be attacked as not "politically correct" since they show pretty much only Caucasian types.

- This looks to me more like a gang approaching and about to pull a knife from one of those cheap 70s movies. Next most this looks like business men wearing ties and laking individuality. I can't really see anything junior in this. Sadly as this logo is nice otherwise. --Bluebirch 09:32, 13 June 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with the comments about the skin colour, although I like the idea. None of the colour schemes really stand out to me, but I suppose that can change after the logo it decided. Isofox 18:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
- I like the shape of the logo and the colors, now first I think symmetry is important, so the left and right of the same color. Blue is very good because blue s relaxed, especially important for children. Propose that in the middle of a different shade of blue, maybe light blue. And in the minds please no yellow, yellow makes aggressive. --Jean11 (talk) 18:02, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
Version A-A
[edit]- Yes I like this one, the A variant best. The colour schemes on the other two seem to confuse my eyes a bit, make it harder to grasp the shapes immediately. --Mcld 17:00, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- This design is my favorite out of all the Wikijunior logo candidates. My favorite color scheme is the first one, I think it fits the best with the other Wikimedia logos. Wesley Gray 20:04, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- I like A for first choice and C for second choice. We need uniformity for all projects. miranda 16:22, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- A is my favorite too. --Xaura 16:54, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- A is the best one of all the proposals. It also gives the sence of "WikiJunior is a project of Wikimedia" to basic internet readers, just as "Maxis is an Electronic Arts brand". I quite agree that some people could also think of the logo as racist. I propose that we change the heads to a dark colour, the other one is brown, while the other is something light. -- Felipe Aira 09:15, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
- Gets totally lost in the other Foundation logos (see below). --Willscrlt (Talk) 10:24, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

- Support Even though I like proposal C the most, this proposal fits the best for Wikijunior because of its "happy" colors... --Jakob S. 19:29, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Version A-B
[edit]- Washed out and also gets lost in the other Foundation logos (see below). --Willscrlt (Talk) 10:24, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I find A-B to be the most pleasant out of the three versions. The variety of colors and the combinations speak about diversity in a certain way, to me at least. I consider the general shapes of this possible Logo to be simple, accessible and fresh. --Purplesofi 16:44, 15 February 2023 (UTC)
Version A-C
[edit]- I think this is the best choice for the Wikijunior logo. However neither one was in SVG format. I've taken A turned it into an SVG image and changed the colors to give C. The color scheme of A and B are similar to the color scheme used by Wikimedia, so they may not be acceptable to the Wikimedia Foundation. --darklama 00:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC) updated: --darklama 19:26, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- I dislike A because the center figure takes over the side ones. For a tri-color logo, I prefer C, especially because of the bright tones chosen. They're happy and kids will like them. Still, I think a strong case can be made for a mono-toned, wikimedia-blue base and three separate colors for the faces. That would be optimal for cross-platform consistency. It also suggests that there is a common sea or pool of knowledge which we all share, though we sometimes see or encounter it differently. Thanks for the entries!
- Shows up really well with the other Foundation logos (see below). Overall, I like this logo for some type of library or reading event. However, nothing in it conveys a sense of youth. It doess quite the opposite, in fact. While these colors help, it still seems like a group of nerdy adults gathered around their books. I don't see how children will relate to it. Teens, perhaps, but not young children. --Willscrlt (Talk) 10:24, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- Neutral - As to the design I think this is one of the best logos – but I agree it doesn't convey very well the idea of "junior". I think D3 is the best option. -- RaminusFalcon «…» («it.wikipedia») 07:56, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- Support The best colors. The faces are from neuter colors and do not express any race in particular. --Xavier D. Say me! ☎ 16:13, 5 July 2009 (UTC)
Version A-D
[edit]- The last choice, letter D, is the one i prefer because it has many distinct color variations which can represent the different languages and subjects wikijunior has to offer. Although I do feel that the font on "Wikijunior" should be the same as letter C and with the word "junior" not being highlighted at all because it causes a distinction in the last "child". Letters A and B are ones i do not approve of because they cause racial filings against others and letter C does not have enough depth so therefore i choose letter D. -- anonymous 20:39, 9 June 2008
- Does not show up as well as A-C with the other Foundation logos (see below). I think that is for two reasons. First, the staggering of the figures seems to have reduced their size, making them less easily seen. Secondly, the purple, green, blue arrangement of this version does not seem as bold or defining as the green, blue, purple order of A-C. --Willscrlt (Talk) 10:24, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- I find the seemingly reduction in size of the figures in this image has a positive effect when placed around the other logos. It seems to make the figures look like children in comparison to the figure in the Wikimedia logo. --Qsheets 03:49, 30 August 2009 (UTC)
Previous discussion
[edit]- This logo, kind of like the Wikiversity one, has slightly ambiguous depth. Obviously the middle "child" is in front, but they're all flat, and it should be on a different plane since it's closer, since we assume they're all the same size. Also, the sharp shape caused by the middle figure superimposed on the other two (in "B," the left hemisphere of the blue, right of red) is a little unpleasant. ALTON .ıl 07:38, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
- I'd be fine with keeping this as the logo. What are the objections to this? – Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 00:49, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- Keep this logo. It is already perfect. Londenp 11:59, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Why two blue people in A, racial undertone here perhaps? I think they should all be colored differently like in B. colours in B better for heads and bodies. Take B picture and A font for best combination or maybe B is just all round better. SunCreator 14:56, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
