Conference venue[edit]

    • Hostel "La Petite Auberge de Compostelle" (around 450m/ 6 min by foot from the venue), up to 48 beds.
    • Hostel in Jolimont (around 15 min by foot from the venue), up to 115 beds, around 20€ per night. Wifi in all the hostel.
    • Student dormitories, around 10-15 € per night or 70 € for a full week.
    • Lots of 2 to 4 stars hotels in the immediate vicinity of the Congress Center

Wikimania traditionally hosts two parties, one for attendees (capacity of 250-350) and one for sponsors and VIPs (capacity 40-60).

Travel and transportation[edit]

  • From Paris (Orly and Charles-de-Gaulle), there is a flight every 30 minutes, which costs around 100 € and lasts 50 minutes.

Surroundings[edit]

The Congress Center is in a recently built area of Toulouse, the Quartier Compans Caffarelli pictures on Commons, pictures on Flickr. There are few restaurants in the immediate area. The Congress Center is 30s away from an underground station. Toulouse hyper-center is two stations away (or 20min by foot), and another restaurant/café/pub-full area is four stations away.

Local transportation[edit]

  • Congress center is 30s away from the first stop of the airport shuttle. (5€ for a one-way ticket, one each 20 minutes, 15 minutes of travel).
  • Congress center is 30s away from an underground station and a bus station. The underground works from 5 AM to midnight ( 1AM on friday and saturday nights). Website of the local underground/bus system, in Frenc only.
  • Congress center is 30s away from a bicycle sharing scheme. Bicycle sharing scheme works 24/7. map of the stations. It costs 5€ to use the system for seven days, with first 30 minutes free, second 30 minutes costing 0.50€ and then 1€/hour (prices in French).

Lot of contacts with the museum (wikiworshops hosted in the museum, agreement signed for pictures of the collections by Wikimedian).
