If you are...
...you should attend this Wikimedia+Education Conference. But, our goal is also fastening relations with our local community, so we want to have a good local audience and, also, try to make something with local volunteers before the formal conference. We are looking for local people involved in the Basque Education Program, teachers, researchers, etc. As we can provide good infrastructure for the Conference, it will be a ~100 people meeting, with around 40 being local partners. Friendly Space Policy[edit]All participants of the Wikimedia+Education 2019 Conference are expected to respect and abide by the Wikimedia Foundation Friendly Space Policy and the BWUG Friendly Space Policy. Individuals not cooperating with these policies may be asked to leave the event. Take and give back[edit]We aim at bringing together people interested and involved in educational projects with Wikipedia and related studies, with a view to obtaining a network of experiences and knowledge. We look forward to bringing people involved in Wikimedia+Education together to increase the possibility to translate it into more and better projects in more communities, getting support and help from others. Our two-year experience, which counts on education-specific support of a government and targets the education system, will be a good takeaway for the Wikimedia Community all around the world. Small language Wikipedias can benefit from our work and share with their communities the different approaches learned in the Conference. But this movement is about taking and giving, so we will learn about other projects, and our local community will take note that there are other ways and they can pursue other approaches for their daily usage of Wikimedia in Education. The establishment of new networks will make these partners self-sufficient, with new learning patterns and case studies. Venue[edit]The opening of the conference (evening of 5th April) will take place in the City Hall of Donostia. On 6 and 7 April, the conference will be held on the fourth floor of Tabakalera, the International Centre for Contemporary Culture.
