WIKIPEDIA 25TH ANNIVERSARY AND COMMUNITY MEET UP
On 17th January, 2026 the Wikimedia User Group Nigeria Anambra Network held her first project for the year tagged "Wikipedia 25th birthday/Community Meet up". The event was held to mark 25 years of Wikipedia imparting the world with free and reliable knowledge. More than 25 people were in attendance. A training and edit-a-thon session was also held to mark the event. The high point of the event was the cutting of the anniversary cake, with lots of refreshments.

Celebration of International Women's Day 2026 in Partnership with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam
[edit]On March 8th, 2026 the Network celebrated the International Women's Day in partnership with Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam, Anambra State. The theme for the year was 'Give to Gain'. The event was held at Igbariam Campus. It was not an editing event, but an enlightenment and training/awareness session in which the network president and the excos spoke on 'The Role of Wikipedia Platforms as a Great Tool in promoting Women'. It was an avenue to reach out to many students and educationists to join in contributing to Wikipedia and all other projects.

Wiki Loves Africa 2026
[edit]On 21st March, the Network joined the Wiki Loves Africa international campaign to document Rites and Rituals in Nigeria. Community members participated and contributed media files. 39 participants were in attendance. See the Dashboard here

On 17th April 2026, the Network beautified Wikivoyage the more by creating more communities therein. Also the Igbo Phrasebook part of Wikivoyage was improved. 23 participants were in attendance

Documenting Igbo Proverbs as Sources of Language Documentation
[edit]On 16th May 2026, the network held a training on Documenting Igbo proverbs on Wiktionary. Participants were able to fill up Wiktionary with many Igbo proverbs and their audio pronunciations. It focused on documenting Igbo proverbs as important sources of language and cultural knowledge. It collected, documented and explaining selected Igbo proverbs. Each proverb was recorded in its original Igbo form, translated into English and explained to show its literal and figurative meanings.
