Wikiclubs
[edit]As of February 28, there are 282 registered members in all 9 active Wikiclubs (Goris, Ddmashen, Lernapat, Kirants, Koghb, Hatsik, Jermuk, Kajaran, and Ijevan). In February, the “Young biographer” multi-staged project specifically for the Wikiclubs was launched. During this project, participants create articles about biographies of popular people by translating them from different languages. This competitive project has five stages. In each stage, the Wikiclub member who creates the most quality articles will receive a prize from Wikimedia Armenia and four other participants will receive certificates. The participant who will show the best result in all five stages will receive a special prize from Wikimedia Armenia. In the first stage of the project, 26 participants created 165 articles with a volume of 2,857,444 bytes.
Wikiedits
[edit]Throughout February, out of 282 Wikiclub members, 93 contributed to Wikipedia. In total, they have created 370 articles and made 1726 edits with a volume of 5,362,330 bytes. During the month of February, 75 Wikiclub members contributed to Wikidata, by making 1330 edits in total.

Other events
[edit]Besides editing, the following events were organized in Wikiclubs:
- An event titled "Let's speak Armenian" was held at the Kirants Wikiclub on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day. Participants presented the common mistakes in Armenian.
- On February 19, Hatsik Wikiclub held an event on the occasion of Book Giiving Day during which editors gifted books to each other. To encourage editors, the Wikiclub coordinator also gifted books to everyone. During the event, editors read sayings about books from Wikiquote and read Hovhannes Tumanyan’s quatrains from Wikisource. At the end of the day, they played the intellectual game-lotto "Me and the World Around Me."
“Wiki Literary World” edit-a-thon
[edit]Հունվարի 15-ից փետրվարի 15-ը կայացավ «Վիքիմեդիա Հայաստանի» և «Դարակ» հրատարակչության համատեղ կազմակերպած «Վիքիգրաշխարհ» երկրորդ խմբագրաթոնը, որին մասնակցեցին Հայերեն Վիքիպեդիայի 43 խմբագիրներ։ Նրանք խմբագրաթոնի ընթացքում ստեղծեցին 4․393․238 բայթ ծավալով 294 հոդված տարբեր ազգության գրողների մասին։
Brusov State University students’ internship
[edit]The internship with students from the Brusov State University was launched on 10 February. 4th year students from the departments of Translation and Intercultural Communication, as well as Russian and Foreign Languages, do their internships at Wikimedia Armenia. Overall, there are 88 students who visit the WMAM office twice a week and participate in 2 hours long training sessions.
During the first two training sessions, WMAM staff introduced the students to Wikipedia, its history and editing tools, and in the third training students started creating their first articles on Armenian Wikipedia. They did their first steps in their sandboxes translating articles from English, Chinese and Korean Wikipedias. Interns translate English articles from the list of vital articles.
The internship will last until March 20.
YSU Ijevan Branch students’ internship
[edit]On February 8, the students from Ijevan Branch of Yerevan State University started their internships. Wikimedia Armenia employees paid a two-day visit to Ijevan where they held 4 training sessions for students introducing them to Wikipedia, its five pillars, and editing tools. In the following weeks, online meetings and workshops were organized during which students presented their work, made changes on the articles in their sandboxes and the main space.
Overall, 31 students from the Departments of Armenian History and Social Sciences, Armenian Language and Literature, Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Humanities participated in the internship. They create and improve articles by translating them from English, French, and Russian Wikipedias, as well as use Armenian published sources. The internship will last until March 21.
“Evrista” school students’ visit to Wikimedia Armenia

On February 4, seniors students from the “Evrista” school in Yerevan paid a visit to Wikimedia Armenia’s office. Accompanied by their English teacher, 7 students toured the office.
Afterwards, Wikimedia Armenia employees presented the history of Wikipedia, five pillars of the free encyclopedia, as well as introduced the students to the basics of registering and creating articles. The school plans to join the Wikimedia movement and contribute to Armenian Wikipedia. In this regard, preliminary arrangements were made.
“Sweet Wiki” edit-a-thon
[edit]Wikimedia Armenia always welcomes collaboration offers from external organizations. This time “Laki online” academy suggested filling the gap of information about pastries, cakes and sweets by improving and creating articles on Armenian Wikipedia.
As a result, the “Sweet Wiki” edit-a-thon was launched from February 8 and will last until March 8. Throughout the month, participants will create articles about pastries and candies, their production technologies, and ingredients.
In media
[edit]During the past quarter, two articles were submitted for publication in the Wikimedia CEE newsletter. The first one concerns the 9th Wikiclub of Wikimedia Armenia, which was opened in the city of Ijevan, Tavush region. The other one is about the Armenian-Iranian joint edit-a-thon, which was initiated by Wikimedia Armenia and the Iranian Wikimedians User Group in November-December.
