Report of activities for 2025 - Products and Technology
First semester
QuickStatements new version released
In partnership with Wikimedia Deutschland, Wikimedia Brasil launched QuickStatements 3.0 in February 2025,[1] marking a significant upgrade to one of Wikidata's most widely used tools for mass edits. The new version was the result of an extensive community consultation process and a rigorous technical development plan. Fully refactored in Python, the platform now includes new functionalities[2], enhanced system stability, and a more user-friendly interface. It stands as a decentralized, community-informed product that reflects the collaborative values of the Wikimedia Movement.[3][4][5][6]
Since its release, QuickStatements 3.0 has facilitated over 1.6 million edits, supported more than 130 users, and processed over 3,000 batch uploads. A dedicated community session gathered 142 participants, showcasing strong engagement and interest in the tool's evolution.[1] This initiative contributed directly to the strategic goal of reimagining the sociotechnical infrastructure of the movement, while also strengthening Wikimedia Brasil's capacity in technical development, research, and project management.
Second semester
Wiki Infographics relaunch
In 2025, WMB completed the relaunch of Wiki Infographics, a tool designed to transform structured Wikimedia data into clear, engaging visualizations in static and dynamic formats. The activity directly supports WMB's strategic axis focused on connecting social and technical resources to improve onboarding and retention of newcomers and partners. The main objective was to deploy the refactored tool on Toolforge and provide accessible documentation. After overcoming deployment obstacles faced in 2024, the tool went live in October 2025, now mobile-friendly, functional, and capable of generating customizable bar-race charts for download and publication.[7]
