First semester
Launch the mentorship landing page on CapX
In the first semester of 2026, Wikimedia Brasil launched a mentorship registration feature on the Capacity Exchange (CapX) platform, enabling structured connections between mentors and mentees within the Wikimedia Movement. The pilot was conducted in partnership with four organizations (EduWiki Hub, Language Diversity Hub, African Wiki Women, and Wikimedia Brasil), and represents a step toward consolidating peer-to-peer capacity building in a space designed by and for the Wikimedia community.[1]
The new feature centralizes mentorship sign-ups directly within CapX, storing data in an encrypted environment accessible only to program coordinators. Its user-friendly, dynamic interface allows partner organizations to receive applications from people beyond their existing networks. The initiative aligns with WMB's strategic axis of "sustaining collaborative practices in support of free knowledge", as it facilitates connection among individuals, groups, and organizations seeking to share or develop skills. Currently four partners are hosting their registration forms on CapX, with plans to open the integration to any interested initiative in the near future.[1]
