Wikimedia Brasil, renaming of Grupo de Usuários Wiki Movimento Brasil is a Brazilian non-profit association affiliated to the Wikimedia Foundation. Founded in 2013, WMB seeks, among other goals: to amplify, improve and diversify the content and community among Wikimedia projects, especially Wikipedia; and support the role of social organizations in the open knowledge ecosystem.

Wer wir sind

Geschichte

Wiki Movimento Brasil ist aus einigen Experimenten mit Community Organisationen aus den Jahren 2005 und 2006 hervorgegangen. Diese rein ehrenamtlichen und informellen Experimente zielten darauf ab, Gruppen von Autor/innen zu organisieren und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für die Wikimediaprojekte in Brasilien zu leisten.

Die Grupo de Usuários Wikimedia no Brasil, deren Arbeitstitel "Wiki Movimento Brasil" lautet, wurde 2013 offiziell von der Wikimedia Foundation anerkannt.

Sechs Gründungsmitglieder kamen 2016 zusammen, um die erste Strategie für Wiki Movimento Brasil zu erarbeiten. Im darauffolgenden Jahr ließ der Verein seine Satzung bei einem Notar eintragen und baute eine professionelle Struktur auf.

Obwohl die Wikimedia Foundation ihr 2018 die Anerkennung entzogen hat, hat Wiki Movimento Brasil seine Aktivitäten nicht unterbrochen und wurde 2019 wieder von der Foundation anerkannt. Zum Zeitpunkt der Erstellung dieser mehrjährigen Strategie im Jahr 2022 hat Wiki Movimento Brasil 32 assoziierte Mitglieder und ist ein wichtiger Bestandteil des Wikimedia Movements.

Zweck

Ein/e brasilianische/r Wikimedianer/in zu sein, der/die die Aktivierung, Koordination und den sozialen Wandel für offenes Wissen fördert.

Vision

Die Gerechtigkeit, Zuverlässigkeit und Sicherheit der soziotechnischen Infrastruktur des offenen Internets zu konsolidieren.

Mission

Die Aktivierung, Koordination und soziale Transformation von offenem Wissen vorantreiben.

Die Säulen, die Wiki Movimento Brasil leiten, sind:

Benutzergruppe Wiki-Bewegung Brasilien

Am 26. Mai 2018 wurde die Anerkennung der Benutzergruppe der Wikimedia-Gemeinschaft in Brasilien zurückgezogen.[4] Danach wurde die Gruppe umbenannt in Grupo de usuários Wiki Movimento Brasil (auf Deutsch Benutzergruppe Wiki-Bewegung Brasilien), aufgrund der Regeln zur Wikimedia-Marke; Das Logo wurde aus den gleichen Gründen geändert. Diese Seite erwähnt aus historischen Gründen beide Namen (den ehemaligen für Ereignisse und Berichte vor der Aberkennung und den neuen danach) und wir beanspruchen keinerlei Rechte an den Namen, die vor der Aberkennung genutzt wurden.

Wikimedia Brasil

On 11 December 2024 Wiki Movimento Brasil was recognized as a Wikimedia Chapter by the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees. Since 13 February 2025, we use the name Wikimedia Brasil.

Ziele

  • Facilitate contact and ensure collaboration between synergistic partner entities and related projects in support of open knowledge;
  • Act with equity across the entire territory, considering the economic, social, and technological inequalities of Brazil;
  • Promote the autonomous and sustainable formation of local groups and build a shared Wikimedia experience in the country;
  • Work on the consolidation and institutionalization of partnerships with underrepresented communities in Portuguese-speaking countries, with affiliates from the Global South, and re-center Wikimedia on peripheral realities;
  • Plan and promote practices and strategies that ensure the long-term economic and community sustainability of WMB as a coordination hub and autonomous promoter of networks in support of free knowledge;
  • Contribute to the improvement of open technologies and consolidate the digital infrastructure for public interest according to regional realities and needs;
  • Position Wikimedia in Brazil in relation to digital transformations and internet governance in support of information integrity, epistemic justice, and free knowledge.

Strategy 2026-2028

Das WMB organisierte einen einjährigen gemeinschaftlichen Prozess, um eine neue Strategie für die Jahre 2023 bis 2025 zu entwickeln. Er orientierte sich an den Empfehlungen der Movement Strategie 2030 und WMB's Theorie des Wandels.

Die WMB-Strategie legt fünf strategische Achsen mit ihren jeweiligen Absichten fest:

Axis 3 icon Promote the Wiki methodology on the internet in Portuguese
