Project information

[edit]
What is the main goal of your project?
  • To document the Thracian and Roman heritage around the Black Sea coast (mostly around Burgas). While most of the documentation will be in the form of pictures (images), we expect to aquire some local noteworthy sources to enhance relevant articles across Wikimedia projects.
Describe which activities you plan to implement
  • We will travel around Burgas (so, not just strictly along the shoreline, but also inland) to document the Thracian and Roman heritage of the area, which often gets less noticed vs. the Greek settlements in that area.
  • Money will be spend mostly on food, gas, entrance fees.
Describe your team
  • We will travel in a small group, with one person with very significant experience across projects (myself), and one person brand new to the project, who has a long lasting passion for quality images. I hope this mix will allow for quality inputs both from a formal editing perspective, and from the image quality perspective.
For which Wikimedia projects is the project relevant? For which communities is the project relevant? What is your target group?
  • Commons, pl.wikipedia.
  • This project will materially increase the availability of quality content on the subject available across the Wikimedia universe (due to Commons placement).
Do you have any metrics for the proposed grant proposal? If yes, please fill in the number of participants, editors, organisers and content contributions (Wikipedia articles, Wikimedia Commons images, Wikidata items, etc.)
