What is the main goal of your project?

• We want to organize Wiki Loves Film in Slovakia 2025, which is aimed at promoting writing/extending articles about films, film industry, actors, directors, and related topics. Despite being a big part of the culture, some important pages are missing from Slovak Wikipedia. We want to take part in organizing Wiki Loves Film as a part of a larger effort, as Wikimedia Czech Republic is organizing Wiki Loves Film in the CEE region. We've also contacted Slovak Film Institute to take part in this event with us and they agreed to help.

Describe which activities you plan to implement

• This is our first year organizing this event, but we want the format to be similar to our previously organized events, such as Wikipedia Asian Month, which we do every year. Users who write the most articles will be awarded prizes, which we hope motivates more users to join and write articles. There are several movie festivals happening around this time in both Slovakia and the Czech Republic, potentially providing material and inspiration for users to write about. We also want to advertise the event on Facebook.

Describe your team

• Primary organizers are KormiSK, Jetam2 and Armin, all regularly participating as organizers of our WMSK events. We also receive support from the rest of the Wikimedians of Slovakia whenever needed.

For which Wikimedia projects is the project relevant? For which communities is the project relevant? What is your target group?

• We aim to expand the number of film related articles on Slovak Wikipedia. Because of this, we want to target mainly Slovak Wikimedians and Wikipedians, but also readers of Slovak Wikipedia who do not regularly edit Wikipedia thanks to the advertising on Facebook.

Do you have any metrics for the proposed grant proposal? If yes, please fill in the number of participants, editors, organisers and content contributions (Wikipedia articles, Wikimedia Commons images, Wikidata items, etc.)

• We will be measuring number of new articles. We apply this metric to our Wikipedia Asian Month every year. As this is the first year of organizing the event, we are not sure how many participants we will have and how many articles will be created, but we hope for at least 10 participants and 30 articles.
