As part of the initiative, on July 15 we held a one-day workshop in Karakalpakstan for 23 participants. During the training, participants learned about the activities of the Karakalpak Wikipedia community, the principles of Wikimedia Commons, and gained practical knowledge in mobile photography and contributing to Wikipedia. The following day, a photo walk was organized to the cultural and historical sites of Karakalpakstan — Ellikqa’la District (Qizil Qala, Tupiraq Qala, Ayaz Qala). Participants applied the knowledge gained during the workshop in practice: they took 401 photos. All images were uploaded to the Wikimedia Commons platform, and 3 Wikipedia articles related to these regions were improved and expanded

Additional part of the report (Lessons learned)

Throughout the project, its implementation and organizational work personally gave us strong motivation and a good mood. When we conducted an anonymous survey of participants who attended the workshop training and took part in the photo walk, we received very positive feedback. We discovered new active users on Karakalpak Wikiped. More than 500 images were uploaded to Wikipedia Commons. The articles about the historical fortresses we visited were rewritten and edited, enriched with the photographs we took. As for the challenge we faced, it was solely the rise in air temperature. On the day of the seminar-training, the air temperature rose to 44 degrees, which caused most users to not attend the seminar. During the photo walk, we also couldn't travel to distant places, and considering the heat of the day and the impossibility of walking at noon, we traveled to nearby locations instead
