Wikimedia CEE Hub/Youth Group/In-Person Meeting

This page coordinates the planning and organisation of the CEE Youth Group in-person meeting planned for November 2026. The meeting is a small, two-day working meetup of the group's most active members, led by youth group members with support from the CEE Hub. Previous editions were held in Prague, Czechia (2023 and 2024) and Yerevan, Armenia (2025). The process is designed to be transparent, participatory, and youth-led.

Timeline

May 2026: Form the Youth Working Group, finalise the guidelines, and prepare the call for host affiliates.
June 2026: Open the call (1st of June), collect proposals (deadline 10th of June), evaluate them, and announce the host (28 June).
July to October 2026: Logistics and programme preparation with the selected host.
November 2026: The meeting takes place.

Roles and responsibilities

Youth Working Group

Coordinate the overall process
Draft and update the guidelines
Launch and review the proposals (mini-bids)
Shortlist hosting options and select the host

CEE Hub and Steering Committee

Provide the budget for the meeting and cover participants' travel through the scholarship process
Provide advisory and logistical support where needed

Host affiliate

Manage local logistics, venue, and accommodation
Provide on-the-ground organisational support

The host provides local organisational capacity, while participant selection and the overall budget are handled by the CEE Hub and the Steering Committee. The host is not expected to fund the meeting from its own resources.

Call for host affiliates

We invite affiliates and communities from the CEE and Central Asia region to submit proposals to host the CEE Youth Group meeting in November 2026. Before submitting, please read the bidding guidelines, which explain what your proposal should include and how it will be evaluated.
