CEE Youth Group — an initiative of the CEE Hub to informally connect young people (younger than 30 years old) from the Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia across the region to support capacity building in this area. It is organised by CEE Hub coordinator Barbara Klen and SC member Klára Joklová.
The group was established in May 2023. We want to create a space for collaboration and sharing among young Wikimedians.
So far, the group had two in-person meetings in Prague, Czechia, and regular bi-monthly online meetings, which are organised and led by the group's members in a rotating basis.
Goals
CEE Youth Group initiative is having bi-monthly meetings, focusing on creating a new opportunities for young editors and Wikimedia members from the region, sharing the experiences and good practise.
In addition, it creates a peer support network for all young Wikimedians in the region, everyone is welcome to attend regular meetings.
Other events and activities of the groupː
- 1st in-person event for young people from the CEE took place in Prague in November 2023 was co-organized by Wikimedia Czech Republic
- involvement of the young people in Wikimania conference in 2024 in Poland
- better cooperation of young people in the CEE Region
- cooperation with Wikivibrance network
- 2nd in-person event for young people from the CEE took place in Prague in November 2024 was co-organized by Wikimedia Czech Republic
- Contribution in the organisation of Youth Conference 2025. Nearly 40 members attended, and 83 attendees participated from all the world. CEE Youth members contributed to the conference as peer facilitators and organised various side events.
- 3rd in-person event for young people from the CEE will take place in Yerevan in November 2025, hosted by Wikimedia Armenia

Everyone younger than 30 years old from the CEE Region can be part of this group. Please fill out the form.
