Wikimedia CEE Hub Steering Committee Election 2026/Nominations
Appearance
The nominations process for the Wikimedia CEE Hub Steering Committee Election 2026 is conducted in accordance with the Wikimedia CEE Hub Internal Governance.
The nominations period runs from 15 April – 18 June 2026 (Anywhere on Earth).
Requirements

- Meet the voter eligibility criteria (see Eligibility)
- Participate in at least two of the three CEE Hub Advisory Group monthly status meetings (15 April 2026, 20 May 2026, 17 June 2026)
- Be at least 18 years old by 18 June 2026
Nominations
[edit | edit source]Candidates may nominate themselves or be nominated by others.
All candidates are expected to create their nomination page and provide the required information at the time of nomination.
- Community candidates may self-nominate
- Community candidates may also be nominated by others, but must explicitly accept the nomination before 18 June 2026
- Candidates for Affiliate positions must be nominated by an affiliate in good standing. The nomination must be supported by verifiable evidence, either:
- a public on-wiki link (e.g., a page, decision, or meeting notes), or
- confirmation sent to the Electoral Commission via email
- Candidates may run in only one category
- Candidates may be nominated in both categories, but must choose only one category to run in before 18 June 2026

[edit | edit source]Questions to candidates
[edit | edit source]Candidates are expected to respond to different types of questions during the election process.
There are three types of questions:
- A standard set of questions provided as part of the nomination process
- Questions submitted by community members and selected by the Electoral Commission
- Questions asked directly on individual candidate subpages (if any)
In addition, one or more online sessions may be organized where candidates can introduce themselves and respond to questions from the community.

- The Electoral Commission may reject or invalidate a candidacy if the candidate does not meet the eligibility requirements or based on relevant checks, including Trust and Safety
