Summary

Wikimedia Serbia has recently had a rise in the number of Wikipedians in Residence, thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Culture. We had had several Wikipedians in Residence before, but there wasn't much traction. Having a top down approach can be very helpful. We will discuss the GLAM activities in Serbia, with an emphasis on WiR programs, specifically the more recent ones. We will talk about specific seminars that served as education tools for GLAM institutions, grantmaking, WiR tasks, experiences and results so far and how this can all be applied in other contexts. We will also talk about how we selected many WiRs in such a short time frame.

Expected outcomes

We want to increase awareness about our GLAM program, specifically the WiR project, and spark some ideas about how that could be translated in different countries around our region.
