Abstract:
The essential goal of this bike quest is to expand the pool of both participants and content type for established photo contest formats like Wiki Loves Monuments. Additionally it provides a novel framework in which a greater level of control is offered to the participants – they not only compete with material but also have the freedom to design their participation strategy themselves. Also by catering to the bike community it allows attracting a previously uninvolved community, under the mantra "they'll go on their bikes anyway, why not encouraging them to take photos while they're at it?". |
