Abstract:

WikiCamp for Teachers is important in equipping educators with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to incorporate Wikimedia projects into their teaching environments. Participants learn how to create and improve Wikimedia content. This enhances their digital literacy and helps them guide students in becoming Wikipedia editors and responsible contributors to open knowledge ecosystems. WikiCamp inspires them to support local content creation, helping to close knowledge gaps on Wikimedia platforms and promoting linguistic and cultural preservation. Ultimately, they are equipped to train colleagues, start school-based WikiClubs, and advocate for open knowledge in education.
