| Abstract:
Many communities organize numerous contests and editing campaigns. In principle, they are supposed to integrate editors and develop our Projects. But do they really make sense? Based on my 5 years of experience in organizing such campaigns in Poland, I would like to share my thoughts and noticed problems that have been growing in the conduct of competitions for a long time. Burnout of concepts and users: what does it look like and why does it happen? Moreover, boredom with awards and envy in the community. Can we somehow fix this and finally revive the campaigns? |

| How will this session be beneficial for the communities in the region of CEE?
Thanks to this lecture, members of many communities will be able to learn what problems they may encounter when organizing or repeating the same actions for many years in subsequent years. We will think together about why people and ideas burn out and what we can do to prevent this. Competitions are an integral part of the Wikimedia movement, but in recent years their popularity has been decreasing. That is why I think it is worth considering the problem and throwing the topic for consideration both on international and local forums. | |||
