Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025/Venue

Accommodation, venue and catering will be provided at the five-star Grand Hotel Palace, Monastiriou 305, 54628, Thessaloniki. It is located at a central point at the entrance of Thessaloniki and has a large number of rooms distributed over the six floors of the neoclassical building of unique architecture. It is the biggest conference hotel in Thessaloniki with elegant and multi-purpose conference halls & meeting rooms.

Learning day will be hosted at Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki, Vassilisis Olgas 66, 54642, Thessaloniki.
Accommodation
[edit]The participants will be hosted in comfortable twin rooms. Accommodation for Affiliate delegates is funded by a WMF grant. Scholarship grant includes four nights. Breakfast is included in the accommodation costs. You can name someone (from affiliate delegates) you want to share the twin bedroom with during registration. Check-in at Grand Hotel Palace is from 14:00, and check-out is until 12:00
If you plan to add vacation nights to your stay, you must make your own hotel reservations for the extra days. Self-funded participants can reserve rooms in the same hotel and at a negotiated price following this guide. If you opt to book somewhere else, we suggest the hotels located on Monastiriou Street, so that you need only one bus to reach the venue.

Check-in and check-out
[edit]Grant-funded participants (affiliate delegates and invited guests) who are attending the Learning Day — that is, those whose names are included in the final list here — can check in at the Grand Palace Hotel after 14:00 on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.
All other grant-funded participants can check in at the Grand Palace Hotel as follows:
After 14:00 on Thursday, 25 September, if they’re arriving that day, or
After 14:00 on Friday, 26 September, if they’re arriving on Friday.
As for check-out:
Participants leaving on 28 September should check out by 12:00 (noon) on the same day.
Everyone else should check out by 12:00 (noon) on 29 September.
Catering
[edit]Meals are an important part of our Meeting — they not only help us recharge, but also offer valuable opportunities for socialising.
Catering during the conference days includes lunch, dinner and two coffee breaks.
Breakfast
[edit]Grant-funded delegates (affiliate delegates and invited guests) can enjoy daily breakfast at the Grand Palace Hotel from 07:00 to 08:30. All other participants should have breakfast at their own accommodation, at their own expense.
Lunch and coffee breaks
[edit]Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 14:00 and is available to all participants, grant-funded and self-funded, from Friday through Sunday. The same applies to coffee breaks.
Dinner
[edit]- Thursday and Sunday dinners at the hotel are exclusively for grant-funded delegates.
- Friday’s dinner is open to all participants.
- Saturday evening, instead of dinner, there will be a party for everyone.
In summary
[edit]- For grant-funded delegates (affiliate delegates and invited guests), the conference scholarship covers all meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday dinner.
- For self-funded participants, covered meals include lunch on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, as well as dinner on Friday and Saturday.
Medical coverage
[edit]The volunteer rescue team Hellenic Rescuers – RescueGR will provide medical coverage for the conference. The team will cover the event on Friday, September 26, Saturday, September 27, and Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with:
- Two (2) certified volunteer rescuers
- Full first aid equipment, including a medical kit, an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), oxygen supply, and materials for handling any emergency situation.
Moreover, protective masks and hand sanitizers will also be available at the conference venue.
City tour
[edit]A guided city tour will take place on Saturday evening after the sessions. Participants will be shared into 3 buses and professional guides will guide us while we stop at city's landmarks. The buses will wait in front of the hotel and will later bring us back for the party.
Wikimedia Cuteness Association
[edit]WIkimedia CEE Meeting 2025 supports Wikimedia Cuteness Association. During the Meeting a special table will be there to host our fluffy friends.
