Wikipedia 20 is the celebration of the 20^th birthday of Wikipedia for Switzerland.

Wikipedia turns 20 on 15 January 2021

January 15 at noon on Zoom: May we invite you to join us and many others in singing the classic “Happy Birthday” for Wikipedia? We would like to put the recording on Wikimedia Commons, our social media and our website. It is the Swiss contribution to activities taking place worldwide on this day. Please register as soon as possible with kerstin.sonnekalbwikimedia.ch.

Global virtual party on 15 January 2021

January 15 January from 5am to 6pm: Join us for a global virtual birthday party for our communities. Wikimedia Foundation is the host an will be livestreaming this event on YouTube.

WikiSwiss Award

To celebrate Wikipedia 20 Wikimedia Switzerland will award all longtime contributors.

The award will have the final ceremony the June 12th in Luzern.

Women’s suffrage in Switzerland

In 2021, not only is Wikimedia CH celebrating 20 years of Wikipedia, but we are also focusing on another historical milestone: 50 years of women’s suffrage in Switzerland. Unfortunately, there are still only a few related photos on Wikimedia Commons. Images can be found and uploaded under Women’s suffrage in Switzerland.
