Grant Update
[edit]- Grants for the Celtic Knot Conference in September and our Annual Grant have both been approved.
- Between the two grants:
- Amy will move to full-time.
- A half-time Administrative Assistant role will be created to handle additional work.
- Committee feedback:
- Happy with the proposal.
- Concerned about long-term feasibility if over-relying on WMF grants.
- Would like to see more focused Irish Language Outreach, especially around Vicipéid.

[edit]- Welcome to Sae and Lucy:
- Sae is Wikimedian in Residence at Trinity College Library, researching 17th-century public speaking and gender. Active on Japanese Wikipedia since 2015 and leads the Wikipedia Translation Project.
- Lucy is a UK academic on placement at the National Museum of Ireland. She wrote a Wikipedia article about women from every country and was UK's Wikimedian of the Year (2022). Active with WikiProject Women in Red.
WikiWomen Erasmus+
[edit]- Successful trip to Donostia/San Sebastián in April:
- Wikithon and partner meetings took place.
- Toolkits developed and prepared for launch at Celtic Knot in September.
- Next meetup: Frisian Wikithon in November.

[edit]- Met Emma O’Brien, Director of Taught Postgraduate Studies and Coordinator of Digital Education Leadership.

- Potential integration into Master of Education course in Digital Leadership.
- Connected with Ciara Ní Dhrisceoil of Gaelcholáiste Luimnigh to review and possibly adopt the WW toolkits.
- Outreach to senior primary school level and University of Rennes lecturer in Breton.
Celtic Knot 2024

ADAPT Centre

- Attempted collaboration with Hunt Museum – timing conflict due to staff changes.
- Reached out to other venues (e.g. Burren Centre) without success.
- Recorded conversation with Catherine Cleary (Pocket Forests, Irish Times journalist) — potential Wikipedia resource.
- Planning June recording with Orla Ní Dhuill (Achill-based environmentalist, MSc in Conservation).
- Wiki Loves Earth photo contest starts 1 June.
- Collaborating with Wikimedia UK for all-island (incl. NI) contest.
Galway Arts Centre (GLAM)
