Wikimedia CUG Malaysia Online Meetup 3 will be the 3rd meetup online. The meetup will be held on:

  • Date: 26 July 2025 (Saturday)
  • Time: 08:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. (UTC+08:00)
  • Venue: ZOOM

  • The activities that were done throughout July.
    • Several meetups were organised with Wikimedians from different countries. The meetups were hosted at the Wikimedia Malaysia’s office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
  • The upcoming activities that are to be done by August by WCUGM either planned and within discussion.
    • There are a few activities that will be done in conjunction with certain event celebrations from different countries, i.e the Osaka Expo.
    • WikiTour 2.0 activities in collaboration with Kelab Wiki Kent.
  • The overview of the upcoming activities for the rest of 2025.
    • Activities from August to November.
      • WikiKata activities with several institutions within Malaysia and other countries, i.e., Singapore.
      • Wikimedia Friendship activities with Wikimedia South Korea.
      • WikiGotongRoyong with the Embassy of France in October on the theme Gastronomy.
  • The social media activities update by Wikimedia Malaysia’s social media manager.
    • Update on the amount followers for each social media platforms.
    • Update on the reports of programs posted on social media.
      • There are dedicated posts for each events done by the CUG.
      • Infographics are posted regularly following any related topic.
  • Further interactive discussions about the activities done by volunteers of Wikimedia Malaysia.
    • Two (2) Wikimedians from Malaysia are scholars to Wikimania 2025 in Nairobi.
      • They will have a meeting with the High Commissioner of Malaysia in Nairobi.
    • Malaysian Wikimedians had a meeting with the Filipino Wikimedian and it involved the discussion about the possibility of having an ESEAP Youth group which will be presented further in the ESEAP Conference 2026 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
    • A volunteer attended the HESI 2025 Global Forum as a panel speaker, discussing the role of the Wikimedia movement in breaking barriers to improve the representation of underrepresented and indigenous communities.
    • A Malaysian Wikimedian is in the shortlist for the Wikimedia Board of Trustees.
    • The next WikiTemu in August is discussed to be done on the 23rd of August.
