Introduction

In January 16th 2021, Wikimedia Tanzania held its annual planning meetup for all of its members to come together and plan for the future programs that they would like the group to engage in based on the needs of the Tanzanian communities and beyond Tanzania. The discuss was open for participants to contribute various opinions and ideas they had that they wanted the Usergroup to implement in additional to the already onging global and local programs/projects. The meetup was help online via Zoom and below is the summary of what was discussed.

Discussion on future projects/programs

What are your own ideas regarding what We (Wikimedia Tanzania) should work on in 2021? -here you can propose any other project(s) and program(s) that are not mentioned on the previous sections.

  1. More capacity building training!
  2. I thought we should try having University wikimedia clubs which will be under regional groups (if available).
  3. I don't have much to say, rather than focus on the project we're already family with.
  4. Health and Environment
  5. We should planning on visit different schools especially primary and olevel secondary schools so that the children should understand more about wikimedia how it works ....About visiting schools ,we should arranging for every year how many schools should we visit. And lastly i was think if we could come up with our book concern wikimedia mayb it can involve people from Tanzania who won through different competitions in wikimedia africa or the meeting of every yr (wikiloves women,africa) and mayb some stories of those who get the opportunity of travelling outside Tanzania mayb to let the people know why did they go and on what purpose.And we can supply to different organizations maybe because we might educate them through words but some people might leave it there after seminars but when they have the books they might save their time and study on their own and understand more
  6. We as wikimedia team should do more of outdoor stuff like seeking for valid knowledge about different cultures and discuss them in terms of their impact to our current views
  7. Finding more ways that wikimedia encourage environmental conservations
  8. Expand Wikimedia to pharmaceuticals
  9. Focus more on expanding more swahili wikipedia content
  10. We must find a way to reach more people out from Dar es Salaam in terms of knowledge and different Wikipedia projects which is ongoing.
  11. To have more physical meetings to facilitate editathon.
  12. Wiki Loves Education, Wiki Loves All, Wiki Loves Children, Wiki Loves Talents, Wiki Loves Technology, Wiki Loves Health
  13. Outreach to other parts of Tanzania for Wikipedia awareness and workshops to expand Wikipedia Tanzania to different places.
  14. We need to find a way to recruit more committed editors
  15. We should have more workshop to make awareness to different people.
  16. We must have more meetings to increase awareness among different people.
  17. We should support Wikimedian in term of funds during project.
  18. We should focus more expanding and adding Wikipedia content.

  25. Kufanya usafi wa makala zilizo undwa tayari maana nimeona makala nyingi hazina vyanzo na nifupi sana.
  26. Kuendelea kuweka makala mpya ila kwasasa tujaribu kuzingatia maadili ya uandishi wa makala hada vyanzo.
  27. Tuna picha nyingi sana tulizo zipakia wikipedia commons kupitia mashindano mbalimbali nafikiri kwa mwaka huu tuimarishe ule mradi wa WPWP.
  28. Jana nimesahau kuweka pendekezo moja, ni kuandaa misaada ya filamu fupi za mwongozo wa kuhariri; iwe umbo la slide show au katuni; je tunaye mtu mwenye kipaji hapo?
  29. Nomba niongeze wazo moja: Pia tujadiliane na Wikipedia community Arusha ili wawe kama part ya hili kundi kubwa na sio independent community. hii itasaidia kukua mikoani

  2. Tuwafunze watu kuhariri Wikipedia, tuanze na mada kuhusu Wabunge. Itasaidia kuwapa watu uzoefu.Tuongeze msingi wa watu wanaoweza kufanya mazoezi.
  3. Shule za Sekondari hazina matokeo mazuri sana. Ni lazima kuangalia kwa upya namna bora ya Wanafunzi wanavyoweza kuleta matunda baada ya mafunzo ya kuhariri Wikipedia.
  4. Kurudia tena kuangalia na kurekebisha makala za kata pamoja na matayarisho yake ifikapo mwakani (2021)
  5. Ingo ataweza kutembelea kundi la Arusha na kuona kinachoendelea
  6. Clubs kwenye vyuo.Watu wanavifaa tayari kama vile simu na Laptops na ujuzi
  7. Tuangalie uendelezaji na usimamizi kwa kabla ya kuanzisha
  8. Watu wenye uwezo mkubwa watumike kuwafundisha watu wapya ili wapate ujuzi stahiki
  9. Utaratibu wa kuwajua active members
  10. Ufinyu wa taarifa kuhusu mashindano
  11. Kuwaandikia/kuwaalika active members ambao hawapo Tanzania
  12. Wapo wengi wanaochangia katika swwiki lakini hawazungumzi kiswahili
  13. Tuone namna ya kuwa na mafunzo nao watu wageni.
  14. Kujenga uwezo kwa editors waliopo, kuhamasishana, mafunzo ya ana kwa ana yanasaidia zaidi.
  15. Wikigap -makala hazina picha.tufikirie namna kupata picha.
  16. Kuwahusisha wanawikipedia walio active zaidi kusafisha makala za swwiki
