Wikimedia Original Content User Group is a proposed entity to support the creation of original rich media content for the Wikimedia movement, grow production and design resources for the wider movement, improve the skills of volunteers in rich media creation for Wikimedia projects, explore models for the monetisation of original content to further support the mission statement and vision of the Wikimedia Foundation and the activities of the wider Wikimedia movement.
Purpose[edit]
- support the production of open license, original rich media content
- support the community of original content producers within the Wikimedia movement and encourage best practice.
- support efforts to increase access to original rich media content through open access licenses
- encourage participation of and facilitate non-professionals developing their craft on with the Wikimedia movement, and
- explore sustainable models of open license content production and monetisation.
- support the mission statement and vision of the Wikimedia Foundation.
