2022-06-01: June on Wikipedia is about human rights, get involved[edit]
Wikipedia Human Rights Month is a challenge both for experienced Wikipedians and newcomers. Join in - add article tips, write or translate human rights articles. The hashtag #humanrights22 in the edit summary could win you a voucher to the Albatrosmedia.cz bookstore and small prizes from Wikimedia CR. More information here (Czech only).
2022-06-10: EDIT-A-THONS DURING HUMAN RIGHTS MONTH ON WIKIPEDIA[edit]
The aim of the newly emergingWikiproject Human Rights is to ensure that everyone has access to neutral and up-to-date information on human rights. During the month-long challenge (1st - 30th of June), we want to teach people who care about human rights to edit, and to get new editors for Wikipedia with insight into human rights topics.
If you are interested in this topic and want to learn how to edit Wikipedia, register for an edit-a-thon (editing workshop for the public), where experienced Wikipedians will help you with editing:
- Editaton Human Rights on Wikipedia, Monday 20.6.16:00 – 20:00 in Prague and online. We will edit in the pleasant premises ofthe Worklounge on Wenceslas Square in Prague. Please registerhere.
- Online editathon of LGBTQ rights on Wikipedia, Wednesday 22.6.16:00 – 19:00 – edit from the comfort of your own home. Please registerhere.
At the same time, we are inviting experienced Wikipedians to the Human Rights Month contest on Wikipedia?
Choose a topic that falls into the contest topics, create a new article, translate it from another language or expand an existing one, as a final step write #lidskaprava2022 in the edit summary.

2022-06-21: Human Rights Month on Wikipedia – how is it going?[edit]
The June Human Rights Month challenge on Wikipedia is almost over. So far, 17 Wikipedians have participated, creating or expanding a total of 43 pages. On 20 June, a Human Rights on Wikipedia edathon took place in cooperation with OPIM, which was attended by 11 editors, among whom participants from People in Need and Amnesty International. 2022-06-10: Film Wikipedia online presentation[edit]
An online presentation by our main lecturer Pavel Bednarik about the portal Wikipedia: film will certainly be of interest to all film enthusiasts who are also geeks. Watch it live on our Facebook page on June 16 from 5 to 6 pm or watch it on record afterwards (Czech only). Thanks to Česká vize festsival for their partnership.
2022-06-12: Open Wikimedia: Educational Programmes[edit]
The third open online meeting with Wikimedia CZ staff and board will be held on 23 June 2022. This time it will be with the EDU team, thus about Wikimedia's educational programmes. Come and chat with us.
The call will take place on Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 6-7:30 pm on the Google Meet platform. To access the meeting, a simple registration is required in advance, by June 20, 2022. Meeting is held in Czech language without planned translation.
You can also answer questions on selected topics or suggest your own.

2022-06-22: Student Editathon in Brno - Human Rights Day[edit]
On Thursday, 23 June, the Brno School of Informatics, Postal Administration and Finance will host a Human Rights Day with a series of student workshops.
In Brno, they have not forgotten about Wikipedia and [part in the field of human rights], so one of the workshops will be an editathon focused on human rights topics.
This activity will be led not only by the teacher but also by the wikipedian, Mahaj.
Wikimedia CR wishes the students good luck and we are already looking forward to great new articles!
2022-06-16: Wikipedia and its role in the current information jungle in Zlín[edit]
On Wednesday, 15 June, a seminar for staff of professional libraries of the Zlín Region took place at the František Bartos Regional Library in Zlín.
The busy programme also included Wikipedia, or rather Lucie Schubert and Pavel Bednařík with their presentation "Wikipedia and its role in the information jungle of today". This contribution was supported by the OSF Foundation.
A big plus of the event was the large participation of librarians. To quote the speakers: "We have never seen so many librarians together before." The contribution of Wikimedia ČR thus reached a large part of the target group of librarians.
During the day, librarians witnessed presentations of a number of progressive library projects aimed at a range of target groups.
At the same time, the Zlín side expressed interest in building on previous cooperation. However, this is not all, because other libraries also expressed interest in cooperation.
Last but not least, our long-term view of Zlín and its library facilities was confirmed - namely that there is great infrastructure and great potential!

On Monday 27 June 2022, the first regular online Wikiporadna will be launched, where you can join and ask any questions you may have about editing or working on Wikipedia and related projects.
The consultations are led by [Bednařík, Wikimedia CZ Chief Trainer].
Connection is possible via the Google Meet platform.
