Mapping OER – Advocating Open Educational Resources The goal of the “Mapping OER – creating free educational material together” project was to find solutions that facilitate a broad implementation of open educational resources (OER) in Germany. In order to do this, we brought together policymakers with actors from practice. We focused on four key themes that shape the debate on OER in Germany: Licensing and legal certainty Quality assurance Qualification models for multipliers Financing and business models “Mapping OER – creating free educational material together” was a Wikimedia Deutschland project on open educational resources. We were able to carry out a project of this scale and social reach thanks to the networks of partners, initiatives, and individuals we have built up over the years and to funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
