[edit]In person session on pre-conference day at Wikimania 2026 in Paris dedicated to connecting with others: meeting new people and getting to know each other through engaging conversations and fun activities.
Date: Tuesday, 21st July 2026
Time: The event will be split into 2 rounds between 09:30 - 13:00, with a 30-minutes break at 11:00. You can choose one round to join.
Language of the session: English
The session is organized by Wikimedia Europe and CEE Hub.

The session will be split into 2 rounds. You can register to join one of the rounds. There is no specific requirement about which you should choose, but each round will have a slightly different profile.
- Round 1 at 9:30 - 11:00: We encourage affiliates' team members, board members and community organisers to join this round. There will be more opportunity to share experiences and find collaborators.
- Round 2 at 11:30 - 13:00: We encourage anyone who just wants to meet new people to join this round. There will be more opportunity to connect across interests.
The number of spots available in each round is limited and we will reach out to you with a confirmation of your spot before 17th July (Friday before the conference week).
The idea & What to expect
[edit]It is so much easier to collaborate and create together when you know each other’s names, faces and what connects us! This is why we are inviting everyone working (as staff, board members or just volunteers) with affiliates and communities: to come and get to know each other before we dive into full Wikimania mode.
You will be able to choose topics/tables to join conversations and activities that will help you make new connections.
The session is inspired by online EuroMixer meetings.
- During this interactive facilitated session you will get to know other people working on similar topics or challenges across wiki organisations and communities
- We will be guided by facilitators and the session will be designed by experienced community builders to adjust to wiki community ecosystem. In a way, that makes it easier to get to know other organizers, contributors, professionals in wiki movement.
- You don’t have to be an extrovert, we will support all levels of openness to meet new people.
- The goal is to make it easier to connect across borders, find shared experiences and interests that can be in the future transformed into collaboration, projects or friendships across wikiverse!
Who will get most of this session
[edit]- Affiliate's and communities' team members: project managers and coordinators, communicators, volunteering supporters, campaign organizers, event and conference organisers
- Board members across affiliates looking to meet other boards to exchange and connect
- Anyone looking for collaborators across affiliates to work on together on community focused projects
