What is the affiliate mission? Mission and Objectives
What are the affiliate goals? Link to the strategic plan, if there is one. The major goals of MWUG is to organizing Wiki Meetups, organizing online – offline article writing competition, conducting Workshops, promote Wikimedia projects and free content in general, encourage the use of Wikimedia resources in education, and organize events to collect Creative Commons Contents and Upload it at Wikimedia Commons.
Organizational development
How does the affiliate make decisions? How are decisions communicated? The Maithili Wikimedians consists of a nine members board, which makes the main decisions through online (mostly) and offline meeting. The majority vote is required to reach a decision.
What is the current state of the affiliate finances? Link to the latest financial report, if there is one. The Maithili Wikimedians financial report is stable and complaint.

How many people participate in the decision-making process in the affiliate? 6 to 7
Has there been any significant changes in the level of the affiliate membership body (e.g. increase/decrease of number of dues-paying members)? Stable
Are there any affiliate activities in the past year that were led by affiliate members? Please share the highlights. Our members are active in several events like
  • The User Group is planning to host Wikimedia SAARC Conference in 2026-27.
  • Continuity to regular events like Wikipedia Awareness Program, Wikipedia Awareness Workshop Program, WikiWomen Meetup, Inter-Community Wiki Meetup and Photowalk events.
  • One can see the Annual Reports of 2024.

What kind of skills does the affiliate leadership possess? Communication, Collaboration, Governance and Organizing event.
Is there any kind of succession plan for the affiliate leadership? We hold Annual General Meetings in every two years to decide the board.
Are there any trainings that affiliate leadership undergo before they assume their leadership position? Not yet, but we are looking forward to it in 2025-26.
