Goal delivery
What is the affiliate mission? to support the Wikimedia movement in Slovakia
What are the affiliate goals? Link to the strategic plan, if there is one. The goals for the 2025 year can be found here.
Organizational development
How does the affiliate make decisions? How are decisions communicated? WMSK is a civic association under Slovak law and so it has to have a board but it is somewhat different from other organizations in the wikimedia universe that the board is an executive board. It has a chairperson and two vice-chairs. The three are authorized to act on behalf of the NGO in official matters. There is also an audit committee and the membership-at-large is the board. In practice, there are bi-weekly meetings of the whole team (there are no staff members) where consensus is reached through discussion while mindful of the capacities of the volunteers and of the team as a whole.
What is the current state of the affiliate finances? Link to the latest financial report, if there is one. The user group has a basic budget of a few hundred euros per year with additional funding that comes from grants.
Affiliate health and resilience
How many people participate in the decision-making process in the affiliate? Decisions are made during bi-weekly meetings, many of them are executed by the board but members participate in activities.
Has there been any significant changes in the level of the affiliate membership body (e.g. increase/decrease of number of dues-paying members)? Membership has been stable at cca 7 members. There are a few non-members that participate and a few members that do not participate.
Are there any affiliate activities in the past year that were led by affiliate members? Please share the highlights. All activities are done by members to some degree (even the board members are members and there is no staff). There are volunteers that are not formally members (also due to age of majority restrictions) but that lead and participate in activities.
Leadership and inclusion
Diverse, skilled, and accountable leadership
What kind of skills does the affiliate leadership possess? The leaders are not all that different from the other members of the user group. They are long-time on-wiki contributors. Two of them are administrators/sysops. Two of them are also Commons contributors. The role of the chair is, in particular, that of an exterior minister.
Is there any kind of succession plan for the affiliate leadership? Several of the current members could take on these roles. There is no formal procedure in place.
Are there any trainings that affiliate leadership undergo before they assume their leadership position? No. So far, all of the leaders have been elected from within the organization.
Are there any requirements for affiliate leadership to disclose their conflict(s) of interests? We are not aware of any conflicts of interest.
Diversity balance (especially gender)
What is the diversity level of the affiliate leadership and membership body? There is diversity in the membership but less so in the leadership but that is how the capacities worked out.
How is the affiliate leadership encouraging gender diversity in the decision-making process(es) of the affiliate? Decisions are made by the collective of 6-8 members and non-member volunteers. Everyone has an equal voice.
Universal Code of Conduct compliance
How does the affiliate leadership ensure, enforce, and evaluate compliance with the Universal Code of Conduct obligations? The UCoC has not yet trickled down to our UG.
Engagement and Collaboration
Please share the publicly available records of regular meetings, activities, events, or conference in the past year where the affiliate has participated. Annual reports are available on Meta in the Reports section.
Community connection

On-wiki competitions and content drives.
Communication and decision-making within the organization.
What are the 3 (three) capacities that the affiliate would like to strengthen in the next 12 months? Finding new people and increasing retention, esp. in the younger age category.
New ways to promote ourselves.
