Goal delivery
What is the affiliate mission? To contribute to the creation and dissemination of high-quality knowledge in the Uzbek language, empowering communities to access and share free knowledge in their native tongue
What are the affiliate goals? Link to the strategic plan, if there is one. * To enrich Wikimedia projects in the Uzbek language by organizing Wikimedia-related events such as group discussions and edit-a-thons
  • To increase public awareness about Wikimedia projects in Uzbek by organizing edit-a-thons and publishing articles on Uzbek-language media
  • To collaborate with other Wikimedia communities as well as other individuals and groups to promote Wikimedia projects in the Central Asian region
Organizational development
How does the affiliate make decisions? How are decisions communicated? Most decisions are made by discussion. We hold monthly meetings to discuss key issues. In 2025, we are planning on developing our by-laws and establishing a board.
What is the current state of the affiliate finances? Link to the latest financial report, if there is one. Our activities are entirely funded through grants. In 2024, we successfully implemented the third phase of WikiStipendiya with financial support from the Youth Affairs Agency of Uzbekistan. We are currently in discussions with the agency to extend our collaboration into 2025.

Has there been any significant changes in the level of the affiliate membership body (e.g. increase/decrease of number of dues-paying members)? 33 new members joined
Are there any affiliate activities in the past year that were led by affiliate members? Please share the highlights. We implemented the following major activities in addition to numerous online and off-line trainings:

Diverse, skilled, and accountable leadership
What kind of skills does the affiliate leadership possess? The affiliate leaders bring extensive experience in advocacy and outreach activities. Nataev, the founder of the user group, organized a meeting with Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales and user group members on November 23, 2024, in Tashkent.
Is there any kind of succession plan for the affiliate leadership? Not yet
Are there any trainings that affiliate leadership undergo before they assume their leadership position? The affiliate leaders have received training in management, maintaining community health, and conflict resolution.
Are there any requirements for affiliate leadership to disclose their conflict(s) of interests? Yes
Diversity balance (especially gender)
What is the diversity level of the affiliate leadership and membership body? Our leadership currently includes only three female members, but we are actively working to address this imbalance. While there are more female members in the group overall, the gender ratio remains uneven.
How is the affiliate leadership encouraging gender diversity in the decision-making process(es) of the affiliate? Our affiliate leadership has three female members, who we consult with in regards to decisions and equity.
Universal Code of Conduct compliance
How does the affiliate leadership ensure, enforce, and evaluate compliance with the Universal Code of Conduct obligations? New members are informed about the UCoC and instructed to familiarize themselves with it. They are encouraged to report any violations via email or Telegram.

How many affiliate members are active contributors to the Wikimedia projects? The user group has close to 30 active members.
How many affiliate members are not active contributors to the Wikimedia projects? The number of inactive members fluctuates over time but typically ranges between 5 and 15 at any given moment.
How many affiliate members are active organizers (of projects, events, conferences, initiatives, etc) within the Wikimedia movement? We have eight members who work in organizing.
How many people have participated in affiliate projects, events, conferences, and/or initiatives in the past year? We had over a dozen members participate in activities during this period,
