Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees/Call for feedback: Board of Trustees elections/Discuss Key Questions/Diversity of Opinion

Proposal[edit]

Re-define the issue as "diversity of opinion" and not "geographic diversity", as the latter is doomed on several accounts: we only know the claimed locations of a small % of the editing base, we know the actual location even more infrequently; it does nothing to ensure any actual benefit from diversity; it suggests that geographic differences are more important than our other differences to cherish. Once that's done, create an election compass using 20 positions that cause significant internal disagreement within the movement, and use that to promote differences of opinion.
