Wikimedia CH attended an informational session with the facilitation team and took some time to discuss the matter internally with its Board and staff. As a result, we are pleased to share the following feedback regarding the ‘’Call for feedback: community board seats’’:

Wikimedia CH would favor a combination of ideas, focussing on both the need for skills and experience as well as on geographical representation. Furthermore, the importance of a direct community vote is emphasized.

Wikimedia CH therefore recommends a combination of the idea of regional seats with either a call for types of skills and experiences or a vetting of candidates. They see this as a good way to proceed ensuring diversity, competence and representation.

Overall WMCH regards the presented ideas as rather complete and well-thought through and has nothing to add at this point. They would like to express their thanks for having been consulted and put their trust in the process that will lead to a convincing and best possible result.
