ウィキメディア財団理事会は理事と職員から構成される運営委員会に委嘱し、ウィキメディア財団事務長募集を行いました。2016年3月に設立し、理事会によるキャサリン・メイハー氏の事務長任命により、同年6月に作業を終了しました。
アイデア
事務長採用運営委員会は、ウィキメディア財団の次期事務長募集を主導する目的を与えられました。その作業は定期的に理事会全体に報告され、理事会の相違に沿った活動をしているかどうか確認されます。その権限と責務は以下のとおりです。
- To identify, evaluate and select candidates for approval by the Board
- To engage consultants or a search firm to support the search
- To consult with our community and collect their input
- To determine the job description for the new Executive Director position after consultation with the entire Board
- To negotiate base recruitment on the compensation package recommended by the Human Resources Committee
- To consult additional non-voting members as appropriate for its purpose
- To report progress to the Board

We are looking for more than only our perspective and we want to invite you to share your thoughts and ideas about what kind of ED is needed to lead the Wikimedia Foundation.
