Experiment title: WikiVoice, a Wikimedia project for oral culture documentation
Brief description of experiment:
Community-based language digital archive for underresourced language communities to publish oral history.
WikiVoice will let community-based language contributors to record knowledge in Indigenous and other underrepresented languages using a set of recommended practices and publish oral history. These audiovisual recordings will be peer-reviewed by fellow community members and external experts such as field linguists.
Recordings will graduate from draft to peer-reviewed status, allowing them to be used as citable source of knowledge on Wikipedia, Wikidata, Wikisource, Wiktionary and other Wikimedia projects.
WikiVoice will integrate AI for machine-transcription, enabling time-code-based citation (similar to page numbers in textual sources) and summarised description.
