Wikimedia Mataram Community

Wikimedia Mataram Community Logo

Wikimedia Mataram Community is a community of Wikimedian in and around Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. It is a regional community under Wikimedia Indonesia (WMID). This community is currently focusing on developing Sasaknese Wikipedia and Wiktionary, both of which are still in incubator.

History

There are several outreach programs that WMID has done to reach Mataram area, including WikiLatih in 2018 and in 2019. However, the community is not formally formed until WikiLatih in Mataram University and editor gathering in 30—31 May 2024. Since then, the community has done several activities to support Wikimedia Indonesia and to document knowledges related to Sasaknese culture.

Events

Wikimedia Mataram Community have done several events, which mainly gathering to edit and training on Wikimedia projects. Besides, this community has also have collaborated with several other communities in Indonesia. Some of the events for this communities are:

• Training program (WikiLatih):

• September 6, 2025, offline — Wikibooks Training with Wikimedia East Java Community.
• September 7, 2025, offline — Wikisource Training with Wikisource Indonesia Community.
• April 11, 2026, online — Incubator Wiktionary Sasak.

• Editor gathering (Kopdar):

• November 15, 2025—November 29, 2025, offline — WikiMaknyus and WikiNgamprog with Wikimedia Jakarta Community.
• December 22, 2025, offline — Wikivoyage with Wikivoyage Indonesia, in part of WikiDSP project .
• January 24, 2026, offline — Incubator Wiktionary and Wikipedia Sasak.
• April 4, 2026, offline — Women's Wiki Month.

• Events (may include editor gathering and training program)

• June 6, 2026—August 9, 2026, hybrid — WikiPandu, with Wikisource Indonesia Community and Wikimedia Surabaya Community; funded by Wikimedia Foundation
