Thus, if you are a Tunisian Wikimedian and you have an idea of a project, we strongly invite you to contribute before 05 December 2016. You can propose more than one project. Projects could be online or offline, just let your imagination go !

Project description: Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is an annual international photographic competition held during the month of September, organised worldwide by Wikipedia community members with the help of local Wikimedia affiliates across the globe. Participants take pictures of local historical monuments and heritage sites in their region, and upload them to Wikimedia Commons. The aim of event is to highlight the heritage sites of the participating countries with the goal to encourage people to capture pictures of these monuments, and to put them under a free licence which can then be re-used not only in Wikipedia but everywhere by everyone.

Translating WikiData into Tunisian Arabic dialect[edit]

Project description: As words in Tunisian Arabic dialects do not sometimes have the same meaning as in the Modern Standard Arabic, we decided to add labels in the Tunisian Arabic dialect for all the entries in WikiData. We will also translate the system messages of WikiData to Tunisian Arabic using Translatewiki.

Adding books about the characteristics of Arabic dialects to the French wikisource[edit]

Project description: In order to explain that Maghrebi dialects and mainly the Tunisian one has its own particularities that do not exist in the other varieties of Arabic, we add several books to the French wikisource that were published before 1923 and that explain very well the issue. The first book we are work on is this one.

Project description: Wiki Loves Earth (WLE) is an international photographic competition to promote natural heritage sites around the world through Wikimedia projects (mainly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons). Everybody can participate. There are a lot of natural heritage sites in all participating countries. The goal of Wiki Loves Earth is to encourage people to take pictures of those natural sites, and to put them under a free licence so that others may access them through the Internet. To achieve that, an international contest will take place from 01 May 2016 to 7 June 2016. This page introduces the Tunisian part of this competition.

Project description: Write in Wikipedia Arabic Arabic content ratio represented on the Internet only 0.83%. Although the ratio of the number of Arabic speakers in the world is 6.6%, according to statistics in 2015. One of the reasons for the weakness of the use of Arabic on the Internet is the lack of Arabic letters in keyboards. To address this issue, Wikimedia User Group Tunisia propose to launch a campaign "write in Arabic" to encourage enrich the Arabic content on the Internet and write in Arabic Wikipedia. The campaign consists of distributing posters of the Arab characters (ملصقات الأحرف العربية) for free to people who have computers with keyboards that have no Arab characters. To get one, the recipient must have an account in Wikipedia and has an edit at least in one of the articles.
