Wiki Loves Earth 2026
[edit]Wikimedia Tunisia organized the Wiki Loves Earth 2026 in Tunisia photo competition during May and June 2026. As part of this edition, the User Group established a partnership with the Club Photo de Tunisie, which played an important role in the success of the competition.
Through this partnership, several photo walks were organized, giving participants the opportunity to discover natural heritage sites, improve their photography skills, and contribute high-quality images to Wikimedia Commons. The collaboration also helped attract new photographers to the Wikimedia movement and strengthened the relationship between Wikimedia Tunisia and the local photography community.
To promote the competition, Wikimedia Tunisia delivered a presentation during the Club Photo de Tunisie's first meeting of the year, introducing participants to Wiki Loves Earth, Wikimedia Commons, and the impact of freely licensed photography. In addition, an online meeting was organized for photographers to explain the competition rules, share best practices for contributing to Wikimedia Commons, and discuss the criteria for achieving Quality Images (QI) and Featured Pictures (FP). These outreach and training activities helped participants better understand the standards expected on Wikimedia Commons and encouraged the submission of higher-quality photographs throughout the competition.
