Art+Feminism is a campaign improving coverage of cis and transgender women, non-binary folks, feminism and the arts on Wikipedia. From coffee shops and community centers to the largest museums and universities in the world, Art+Feminism is a do-it-yourself and do-it-with-others campaign teaching people of all gender identities and expressions to edit Wikipedia.

Wikimedia User Group Nigeria ( Registered as Wiikimedia Nigeria Foundation in Nigeria) staged an edit-a-thon in collaboration with Centre for Children’s Health Education, Orientation and Protection also known as CEE-HOPE, a non-governmental organization that focus on the right and welfare of vulnerable children. The event represents participants from different walk of life who are willing to contribute Wikipedia, the world largest online encuclopedia.

Though, the cloud did not look good on the day with a sign of heavy rain in the air but the participants ignored the threat by the nature to gather for the event.

This event will be third time that Wikimedia Nigeria Foundation will be partnering with CEEHOPE to organise to host a event of such magnitude in Nigeria, the African country with the largest population.

The metrics from the event shows the following:

  • Article Created: 3
  • Articles Edited :12
  • Total Edit: 18
  • Editors:12
  • Words Added:1.24K
