Wikidata 12th Birthday

The Wikidata 12th Birthday was organized to celebrate Wikidata's success and growth. It also welcomed new editors who were encouraged to continue creating & improving Wikidata items, and expanding knowledge. A contest was launched and top contribitors were awarded amazing prizes. Wiki Ties Abuja

This event was aimed at promoting free and open knowledge, bridge information gaps about Nigeria and Africa on the internet, and foster a community of Wikimedia enthusiasts in Abuja. In addition to providing technical support and training for a variety of Wikimedia projects (particularly Wikidata, Wikimedia Commons, Meta, and Wikisource), our network also celebrated an end-of-year picnic in grand style.
