Notification: Letter of intent for African Health Initiative

We are excited to announce our intent to form the African Health Initiative User Group, a new Wikimedia user group focused on bridging the health content gap in Africa and uniting health editors from Africa in the Wikimedia space.

This User group aim to identify challenges and proffer solutions to false health information in Africa through collaboration with local health institutions. The key founders of this user group already started working on the initiative since 2023.

Wiki Project Medicine, the thematic organization with similar theme has been duly informed of this user group through its board members and the willingness to collaborate to ensure contribution to health project on Wikimedia projects.
