Formalizing our decision processes

(Continued from the last meeting.) It would be good if we could get a documented decision-making process to make it clear and transparent for everyone how the user group make decisions. At the same time, we don't want to make it too complicated, but also not easy to coup.

Some documented governance in existing user groups that could be an inspiration:

They are both fairly simple, but still perhaps more than we need. Can we pick the best parts only?

Ideas about Community defined lists/Wiki99 lists

Lists have been deployed and can be selected as start for translations on Special:Contributions. Already Climate and Sustainability are selectable.

  • Gender equality could be another list.
  • Make a subpage onwiki for more ideas on lists.

Any other business

Could the user group be endorsers of grants?

The user groups could give feedback on grants, and endorse grants that are inline with our objectives and values. The user group could be open for requests to review grants and also point members to ones that could need feedback.

  • Create some sort of guidelines for how to review when reviewing for the user group, where the focus is solely that the content/outcomes of the is about sustainability rather than how the grant is carried through or who is applying.
  • How to decide when to endorse as a user group? Should we have an internal vote or another process with some simpler threshold criteria? When endorsing, make clear that it is only the content/outcome that is endorsed.
