      1. Scholia Hackathon (WikiCite) April - LANE
        1. This is a WikiCite-related conference. WikiCite curates metadata for the citations of scholarly papers. The WikiCite 2025 will be in August in Switzerland. The big recent news is the April 2025 d:Wikidata:SPARQL query service/WDQS graph split, so now there is a main Wikidata graph, and a graph only for WikiCite content.

      3. outcomes and discussion: Wikipedia is under threat from governments, we need an advocacy event for en:Osama Khalid, misinformation is an attack in fields including climate change and LGBT+ issues, consider partnerships with Tor for security training and expertise exchange
      4. Lane created a set of videos for this conference, to be published in next issue of en:WP:Signpost. Many people discussed harassment and safety of wikimedians. Topics of health, vaccines, climate change, LGBTQIA topics, political elections can lead to increased harassment. The recomendation is to share your experiences to try to create peer to peer protection for Wikimedians.
      5. Mary Mark Ockerbloom and others worked on the Template Misinformation and released the new template: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Misinformation
      6. Mary Mark Ockerbloom and others are planning an edit-a-thon at en:WikiConference North America/2025 to work on articles that are related to disinformation.     6. Tochi: It's not a wiki event but I attended the Mercator Language Conference 2024 in the Netherlands on Shaping Language Policy for Minority Languages.   4. On 9 April 2025, the Centre for Internet and Society announced a halt to its "Access to Knowledge" program.
    1. This cuts off many routes of collaboration with Wikimedia editors in India

    1. Like LGBT+, this is a developing thematic organization which invites global participation

    2. Need to keep these reports up to date to retain our official status
    3. official status is valuable to us and something that we all want
    4. Jeffrey: there are new "affiliate health criteria" which define the necessary reporting. Getting suspended would be a lot of work to get reengaged. Get reporting up to date!
    5. Who will get reporting up to date?
      1. Lane volunteered to coordinate; Jeffrey asked to be invited when there is a start; others will contribute
      2. Everyone should want to contribute to the annual report because this is a place for Wikimedians in Residence to showcase their accomplishments

    1. Question: How much content can an institution put into Wikidata without having a Wikidata community discussion?
    2. Recommendation: start with 5000 edits, then report, share, and discuss it with Wikimedia community before uploading more. After showing 5000 edits, doing as many as 100,000 edits is not unusual for an institution like a museum
  11. Please take Mastodon into use when you want to inform people about what's happening in #wikipedia around the world. It's not censored by anyone. You can use your real name or a pseudonym.
