2026 Events Timeline

In 2026 Wikimedians of Chicago hopes to increase the scope and ambition of meetups and programming. In addition to our current bimonthly meetup schedule, we hope to incorporate other events such as editathons, photowalks, and events targeted at new editors.

Here is a rough timeline of possible events, exact dates and times TBA.

Late January: Wikipedia Day - 25th anniversary

February: Black History Month Editathon or other event

March: Women's History Month Editathon or other event

April: Casual meetup

May: Photowalk

June: Pride Editathon or other event

July: Wiknic

September: Beginner editor workshop with WikiCurious/WikiNYC

November: Casual meetup
