User group news

• On 26th Apr 2025, we had our user group monthly meeting online via Google Meet. Jinoy shared the agenda of the meeting and welcomed everyone. Sixteen members attended the UG meeting.
  • Manojk shared updates about Wikisource Workshop conducted at Kerala Sahitya Academy, Thrissur.
  • As part of the event, prototying of Wikisource evaluation tool was done and it will be released soon.
  • Jinoy shared updates about evaluation of images populated as part of Wiki Loves Folklore program. Final results are yet to be published.
  • Jinoy shared updates on the scanner provided by CIS to the UG. Currently it is under the custody of Tony Nirappathu.
  • Ranjithsiji shared updates about Wikivoyage workshops conducted in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Discussion about collaboration with Tamil Wiki was also discussed.
  • Jinoy shared updates on WikiConference India 2025 and the possibility of postponing the same to 2026.
  • Shagil raised concerns about improvement of articles generated as part of Wiki Loves Folklore.
  • Vis M shared updates about Dart2Corpus which is now released under CC license.
  • Ranjithsiji shared insights on lack of Lexeme support in OpenRefine and inputs on the same received as part of FOSS meetup. (read more...)

• Ranjithsiji shared updates about Wikimedia Hackathon which is scheduled to be conducted at Istanbul, Turkey. Ranjithsiji, Gnoeee, Manojk received scholarships to attend the event.
