Wikimedians of Kerala/Wikiwomen Kerala
Wikiwomen Kerala is a collective closely associated with the Wikimedians of Kerala User Group and the WikiWomen's User Group. It provides a dedicated space for women engaged in Wikimedia projects to collaborate, discuss issues, and build a strong community. The initiative aims to bridge the gender gap in Wikimedia projects by fostering participation, amplifying women’s voices, and supporting efforts that highlight gender diversity in open knowledge platforms.
Objectives
[edit]- Empowering Women in Wikimedia: Encourage women contributors to participate actively in Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia, Wikisource, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata.
- Bridging the Gender Gap: Address the underrepresentation of women in Wikimedia projects by increasing the number of women editors and content about women.
- Skill Development & Networking: Conduct training sessions, workshops, and meetups to enhance skills in editing, research, and digital literacy.
- Encouraging Local Content Creation: Promote content related to women in Kerala’s history, literature, culture, and contemporary achievements.
- Collaboration & Outreach: Strengthen connections with other Wikimedia communities, educational institutions, and social organizations working on gender equity.

Digital Literacy & Wikimedia Workshops
