Wikipedia & Education User Group/Working Groups/Resource Curation and Development Working Group
Appearance
The Resource Curation and Development Working Group supports the curation and maintenance of a high-quality, accessible repository of Open Educational Resources (OER) for Wikimedia education initiatives worldwide. It advises on content quality, platform structure, and resource gaps (for example, missing lesson plans or an “EduWiki Starter Kit”), and helps coordinate translations. Members also take part in regular feedback sessions to refine the repository’s usability and ensure it meets the community’s teaching and learning needs.

Time Commitment: Approx. 3 hrs/month.
Out of scope
[edit]- The Working Group does not produce OER content itself; content creation is the responsibility of community volunteers and affiliate partners.
- The group does not curate OERs outside the scope of Wikimedia education; the repository is intended for Wikimedia education organisers and programme leaders.
- The Working Group does not set or enforce curricular standards; it curates and advises on community-submitted resources.
- The group’s remit is limited to advising what, where, and how to curate Wikimedia education resources, implementation and ongoing platform maintenance are led by Hub staff.
- It does not unilaterally set curricula or institutional policies; the WG designs support framework and recommends resources that affiliates may adapt.
