Wikiproject/GLAM Matrimoine
Matrimoine is a term in cultural heritage to describe the legacy left by previous generations of women. At WMCH GLAM we revisit this concept and use it as an umbrella term for a collection of projects on women memorials.

Monuments dedicated to Women
The list of monuments dedicated to women in Switzerland and Germany provides an overview of buildings, sculptures and the like that commemorate specific women or groups of women. Female personalities were rarely honoured with monuments, especially in Switzerland. The few monuments to women mainly depict women from the aristocracy, ruling houses or saints. Monuments to women from the nobility such as Kunigunde von Luxemburg, Anna von Habsburg (before her marriage Gertrud von Hohenberg) or Empress Elisabeth of Austria can be found in both Germany and Switzerland.
However, there are also a number of monuments in Switzerland dedicated to women and their contribution to society. In particular, they honour pioneering women who have made their mark in the fields of politics, human rights, science, art and culture.
The monuments are examples of honouring women in Switzerland who have played an important role in the country's history. These monuments are often also places that encourage reflection on the role of women in society.

Editathon Berne - Women's Monuments
Date: 05.07.2025, 10:00- 18:00
Place: Galerie GLAAB, Waisenhausplatz 30, 3011 Bern
From July 5 to August 18, 2025, the GLAM programme from Wikimedia CH, in collaboration with Galerie Glaab, will present FEMINIST POSTERS on the gallery's exterior facade.
The start will be marked by an Edit-a-thon in Berne on 05. July.

Editathon Basel – Women's Football World Cup 2025 with Scoring Girls* and Rani Le Prince

This event will provide a platform for collaborative work and will be held in German.
