a proposed idea: Wikiquotionary an Enyclopeadia of Quotes. The temp page can be found here: [1] - fonzy

It will help reduce the file sizes of some article by placing all the quotes here (however some famous quotes could remain in Wikipedia). It will also give the meanings to the quotes, for those who might not understand. Also the source and date of the quote.

There should also be different languge versions for people of those langauges to talk about quote for people who speak that language.

The project will not just deal with quotes from famous/well known people. It will also have proverbs, famous quotes from books, etc.

things to be done:

  • choose better name:
    • Wikiquote
    • Wikilaudo (laudo is latin for quote (apparently), bit more international than the English)
  • move to better temp page instead of using the wolof language: http://quote.wikipedia.org/ <-Important(IMO)
  • get own domain name (once name is finally decided)
  • create different language versions

Proposed Logo (name on Logo can be changed if decided on):

A blank wiki has been set up at http://quote.wikipedia.org/ for this. --Brion VIBBER 10:24, 10 Jul 2003 (UTC)
