  • Description: Wikisource is a good way of preserving manuscripts, but as it's not a popular website/project, Wikimedia movements may have trouble or uncertainty of how to launch their own Wikisource. In this presentation, based on the journey of opening the Malay Wikisource back in 2024, I would like to present a roughly step-to-step guide of launching a Wikisource, including before and after the launching. This includes community building, sourcing texts and technicalities.
